About Us

Since 1979, BGC Airdrie Club (formerly Airdrie Boys’ & Girls’ Club) has been a safe and fun space, providing high quality affordable programs and services that are accessible to all children, youth and families of Airdrie and surrounding areas. With two main locations in Airdrie, and before and after school programs at three participating Airdrie schools, the BGC Airdrie Club has grown to extend our reach throughout our community.

BGC Airdrie Club is governed by a Board of Directors and comprised of both staff and volunteers. Funding is secured through a combination of fundraising initiatives, sponsorships, donations, grants, and government funding.

We offer programs for school aged children and youth, as well as family programming at our clubs and throughout the community. Our more popular yearly events are our Annual Markets, Paint Nights, Festival of Trees and A Claus for Celebration. If you would like more information about how to sponsor an event, volunteer or become a part of our BGC Airdrie Club community events, please contact Kathy Ritcher at [email protected]

Our Mission

To provide a safe, supportive place where children and youth can experience new opportunities, overcome barriers, build positive relationships and develop confidence and skills for life.

Our Vision

Through a strong coordinated board, staff and volunteer team, we will be the leader in youth services, providing equal access to social, educational and recreational programs for youth.

Our Core Values

Inclusion and Opportunity
We strive to offer children and youth from all economic, cultural and social backgrounds access to the resources, supports and opportunities that will enable them to overcome barriers and achieve their positive potential in life.

Respect and Belonging
We provide a safe, supportive place, where every child is listened to, respected and valued in an environment of inclusion and acceptance. Our staff and volunteers model honesty, fair play, positive attitude, cooperation and respect for self and others.

Empowerment
We believe that all young people can grow into responsible, contributing and self-reliant members of society. Children and youth are at the centre of everything we do. Through adventure, play and discovery, we encourage and empower them to develop healthy lifestyles, a life-long passion for learning, leadership and life skills, and a sense of social responsibility.

Collaboration
We work together with families and volunteers in each community, in partnership with the public and private sector, to create healthy community solutions to providing children and youth with what they need for optimal development.

Speaking Out
We speak out on behalf of children, youth, and their families to reduce disadvantage, enhance their lives and enable their voices and ideas to be heard.
